Is anyone else having trouble deleting the default outcome in a rubric? It was working fine last week. Today the trash can is not there
@PaulaJenson -
I am assuming you mean the default criteria. I just checked it out, and I am seeing what you are when creating a new rubric. I checked an existing one and went into edit and the trash can was there to delete. I then went back to the new one and edited it and the trash can appeared.
What I found is create the rubric, click on update rubric and then reload the rubric page and then go into edit mode for the new rubric to see the trash can.

I received a message from Instructure Support regarding the issues with outcomes / rubrics in Canvas. Please see the message below. It appears a fix is just around the corner:
Hello,
Your Canvas case 10662810 has been updated with a new message.
Hello, Our engineers have created a fix that has passed initial QA testing. The next step is for this fix to be deployed to our Beta environment, where it will be available for Teachers and other Administrators to test, and to ensure it is working properly before it will be added to our live Production environment. We will provide another update once the fix has been applied to the Beta environment, or if there are any other changes to its status. This ticket will remain in an "On-Hold" status at this time. We appreciate your patience throughout the process of testing and implementing a fix for this issue - if you have any questions about this message or the status of this fix, please feel free to contact Support. Cool work around, but that's a lot of clicks, right? Like, this is broken. Will it be fixed?
I am having this same issue. We use Canvas Outcomes for our assessment processes. This is going to be a big problem for our assessments results in the Outcomes Report. The work around is extraordinarily cumbersome. Is there a way to urge the fix along?
I'd be keen to see a fix for this too. the workarounds aren't ideal.
Please fix this issue. It is difficult enough to encourage faculty to use rubrics. We need this interface to be efficient.
Greetings!
I have another update from Canvas Support regarding the default criteria in rubrics. The fix is indeed working in the beta environment. I tried it, and everything functioned as it should. The trash can appeared next to the default criteria, and I was able to remove it from the rubric. The fix should go live on April 10, 2024. I am very relieved this will be fixed before the end of the semester.
My Latin is uploaded and has ? and ! and other characters replacing the Latin. IMpossible to work with
Is there a trick to importing a rubric when using the Canvas rubric template? I download the csv file and fill in the Canvas Rubric template from the Enhanced Grading feature and nothing happens when I try to upload it. It only shows the file name, but not it's size. Yes, it is still a CSV. I've tried removing all symbols…
With the new SpeedGrader UI, we are seeing student names appear in the page title even when the “Hide student names” setting is enabled. When using Classic Quizzes, there is no option within the quiz settings to enable anonymous grading, so we rely on instructors using the hide student names setting in SpeedGrader to…
Speedgrader chaning file name when being downloaded. Speedgrader: When downloading a submitted assignment, the file name is being changed to an unrecognizable name — (Student's actual name was part of the file name — changed for privacy.) Ideas???
We are all familiar with the standard Course Calendar, where assignment due dates are automatically added. However, at my institution, we structure our assignments as Challenges that develop over a period of time, rather than just a single deadline. Currently, the calendar only highlights the "end point." It would be a…
