After searching your site for hours, you still do not have any clear instruction or guidance as to how to upload an instructor's course syllabus into the canvas portal. Totally unsatisfactory.
Hi @JayStroup ...
There are two main Guides that I'll refer you to re: the Canvas Syllabus:
For your case, what does your syllabus look like? Do you have it in a Microsoft Word document or a PDF file? If so, are you wanting to just upload that document to the Syllabus page in your course so that students can view/download it? Or, do you have text in a document that you want to copy/paste onto the Syllabus page of your course? At our College, we have a third-party product integrated into our Canvas environment called Simple Syllabus. So, our instructors do not use the normal Canvas Syllabus page. Rather, we've set up a template in our Simple Syllabus so that there are specific fields that need to be filled in (other fields are auto-populated with information).
If you could provide some additional details about what your Syllabus looks like and how you'd like it displayed in your course, that will be helpful. Thanks!
@JayStroup Maybe, you don't realize this, but the people answering questions on this forum are not employees working for Instructure. Most of us are either IT folks or teachers who just want to help. We're all volunteering our time here. I understand that you are frustrated, but please reconsider your tone.
I am trying to find out the same.
How do I upload a student's assignment submission to a Canvas assignment when it was sent to me via email?
With the new SpeedGrader UI, we are seeing student names appear in the page title even when the “Hide student names” setting is enabled. When using Classic Quizzes, there is no option within the quiz settings to enable anonymous grading, so we rely on instructors using the hide student names setting in SpeedGrader to…
Speedgrader chaning file name when being downloaded. Speedgrader: When downloading a submitted assignment, the file name is being changed to an unrecognizable name — (Student's actual name was part of the file name — changed for privacy.) Ideas???
We are all familiar with the standard Course Calendar, where assignment due dates are automatically added. However, at my institution, we structure our assignments as Challenges that develop over a period of time, rather than just a single deadline. Currently, the calendar only highlights the "end point." It would be a…
The current placement of the "Submit" button creates a "slip" in user behavior where habit-clicking "Next" leads to an accidental final submission. I think Canvas could easily fix this by: Moving the Submit button away from the navigation buttons (maybe above the question instead of below it) and/or Adding a "Confirm…
