Introduction about me or not

I am pretty sure i already know the answer to my question but i am going to post this anyway just because I am new here and i am learning all of this...... Ive always been told the more you do something the better you get at it so, that is what i am doing..... Now for my question i was just told that i would have to post an introduction on the first day of class and i just wanna make sure that i completely understand that.... This introduction is all about me and who i am and just needs to tell everyone about me??? Roght????

Welcome to Canvas and the Canvas Community website! I'm not sure if you realized this or not, but you have posted your question in the global Canvas Community website. This site is dedicated to getting assistance with the Canvas LMS (Learning Management System), accessing the written and video tutorials for Canvas, submitting new ideas for enhancements to Canvas, participating in other specific Canvas-related discussions, and much more. Lately, I have done my personal introduction in two different ways:

A picture with a "social media bio" (something short, a paragraph at most) and a sentence of "why me in this course". That last part allows me to relate both my experience and interests with what's to come during the course.
A one-minute video that discusses the previous same topics.

After the presentation, I have invited students to ask me questions about me and my experience. Sometimes I invite them to Google me so they can find publications, articles, my website, my LinkedIn, and a few other references. I have collected the questions in two different ways:

With an "AMA - Ask Me Anything" forum in Canvas. I answer the questions there and comment some that call my attention during class.
With Mentimeter (or Slido), and answering selected ones during class.

Now, talking about an introduction to the course, my first day with a new group considers the following:

My personal presentation
General plan for the course
My expectations from this group
A brief diagnostic evaluation
Collecting expectations from the group
Clarification of the work culture in my class

First, read the question/prompt your instructor posted. I can not see it, so I can not give you a definitive answer.

Second, check if there is an obvious grading rubric posted. There probably will not be, but if there is, make sure you follow it.

In general, just tell about yourself and why you are taking the course. If you can mention that you are looking forward to something listed on the syllabus, that is very good.
