can canvas tell the difference between losing connection and logging off the page? For example my page kept taking forever to load and it kept freezing during my timed quiz, does this show as me leaving the page or does it say lost connection?

It's almost impossible to tell you what Canvas would show in a quiz log because the circumstances are all going to be very unique. I would highly suggest having a conversation about the issues with your teacher. You can explain to them what was happening on your end if they question anything in a quiz log, but it's generally up to your teacher to determine facts and take whatever action they feel is appropriate.
