Possibility of email notification for new assignments?

Hello,

I want to send an email notification for new assignments to the students registered in my course, however I only seem to get those notifications for myself as a teacher / administrator.

What could I do to effectively carry out the notification?

There is an option called "Notify users that this content has changed" (located at the end of the Assignment edit page) that you can select. 

However, students can choose to turn off any email notifications from Canvas or change their frequency (E.g. receiving a weekly summary rather than immediately).
