How do I turn in a kaltura video in canvas?
This could depend on how the teacher sets up assignment submission. I am not familiar with Kaltura so cannot say the best way to do this, only some possible options based on other platforms and the media type. If it has the ability to create a "Share Link," then that could be entered if teacher selects URL as an option for submission. If they set up File Upload as an option, then the video from Kaltura would have to be downloaded in order to upload it. One could also look into using Canvas Studio as an option. If a student has access to Canvas Studio (it will show up as a link on the far left that says Studio), then the video could be uploaded there. Canvas Studio can show up as an option in the submission panel for an assignment (I know it does if File Upload is the option selected), which would allow the student to select the video.
Hi @MelissaJones425,
As @JeffCampbell mentioned, there are a lot of variables at play with your question. At my institution, assignments that require Kaltura video submissions are generally set up as text assignments, which give you access to the Canvas rich content editor where you would embed the Kaltura video (using the plug icon to access Kaltura). There are a number of other options though, and in the global Canvas community, we cannot access your specific Canvas environment/account to see how your teacher chose to set things up. If you could perhaps show us a screenshot of the assignment instructions and submission area, that would help narrow down the options so we could give you more specific guidance.

I set an assignment, and my students have uploaded files as requested. I want to download these so I can add in-text comments (SpeedGrader is too clunky). On the left of the SppedGrader page is the text "Submitted Files: (Click to load.)", but when I click on what appears to be the link for the file, nothing happens. I…
A teacher at my school set up her coursework category to "Drop the lowest score" in both Canvas and PowerSchool (we use both). At the end of the semester, 13 of her 78 students had different percentages, with 8 of those being corner cases, resulting different letter grades. And all of those scores were higher in Canvas. I…
I'm not sure that this is the right place to post about this, but I was wondering if anyone has a fix for how the scroll bar for the entire page covers the scroll bar for just a document viewed in Canvas. The scroll bar for a document will stay visible until one attempts to interact with it, at which point the bar for the…
Hi There, We are in the process of transitioning to Canvas this year and were wanting to connect with any other MYP schools to see how you setup Assignment and grading under your modules. Or you could guide us to any resources you may have.
After using Canvas for a while, I picked up a small habit that’s saved me some last-minute stress with written submissions. Even when drafts are original, longer explanations and summaries tend to reuse common phrasing, especially in research-heavy assignments. Before submitting, I usually do a quick cleanup pass to reduce…
