My institution has many graded surveys in classic quizzes that allow students to complete essay questions and receive completion credit for them automatically. Is there a way to accomplish this same functionality in New Quizzes?
New Quizzes has settings that are used to directly control the quiz, but there are other settings in canvas.
When you make the new quiz set the number of points you want students to receive for a complete survey. Then set the score to be displayed as complete/incomplete. Then click build and it will take you to create the quiz.
You can set the new quiz questions to any value and regardless of the total, students who complete the quiz will still receive the number of points you selected on the first canvas assignment page. Set the points on each question to zero, so that the score shown to students at the end of the quiz, will always be zero out of zero. Then in new quiz settings, make sure all options for students to receive feedback are turned off, so that they do not see a list of answers marked as "incorrect" after the quiz.

It used to designate which students had posts to grade so it was easy to just go to those students. Something has…
I'm not sure that this is the right place to post about this, but I was wondering if anyone has a fix for how the scroll bar for the entire page covers the scroll bar for just a document viewed in Canvas. The scroll bar for a document will stay visible until one attempts to interact with it, at which point the bar for the…
Hi There, We are in the process of transitioning to Canvas this year and were wanting to connect with any other MYP schools to see how you setup Assignment and grading under your modules. Or you could guide us to any resources you may have.
After using Canvas for a while, I picked up a small habit that’s saved me some last-minute stress with written submissions. Even when drafts are original, longer explanations and summaries tend to reuse common phrasing, especially in research-heavy assignments. Before submitting, I usually do a quick cleanup pass to reduce…
