Has anyone been able to find a way to get a link directly to an email in your Canvas inbox? I need to be able to get to specific conversations without having to dig around and search for them.
I've gotten as far as:

but can't seem to find the specific discussion id variable.

I think the best you can do is to Star the conversations. It should help a bit.

Among all the things that I wish Canvas had is that one! Is it something that is been worked on? We had it in Blackboard (legacy) and I sorely miss and need in Canvas (we just transitioned to it from Bb). Please add this very needed feature!
