Different "Number of scores to ignore for each student" rules in one assignment category

I have quizzes throughout the year. Some types of quizzes happen more often (Type A) and other quizzes happen less often but are more important (Type B) . I want them in the same assignment category because I don't know how many of each I am going to have yet and so I want to have them all weighted based on point value within that category.

But I want to make a rule that says drop lowest two Type B quizzes. I don't want to individually list all of the Type A quizzes as exceptions. Is there a way to do this? If so, how?

The best option currently available is to have separate assignment groups for your Type A and Type B quizzes. Based on your question, that might requiring you to change the relative weights of those two groups. Of course that's one of the benefits of using weighted grades!
