Adding assignment under Assignments for purposes of Turnitin

Good day,

How do I add a new assignment as a student purely for the purpose of using turnitin? I do not locate the "Add assignment" button. What is the possible reason for this? Am I not looking in the right place?

I simply want to run a research proposal through turnitin so the assignment doesn't have a due date and is not listed under assignments hence I want to add assignment.

Unless your school has different permissions configured, students are typically not allowed to create assignments within Canvas courses.  This permission is reserved for instructors, Teaching Assistants, and Canvas administrators.

Maybe check with your school's Online Learning / eLearning / Distance Education team or your instructor to see if they know of any other options for you if you want to check your work for plagiarism.
