Hello! I would like to use new quizzes, but I'm having a hard time trying to "group" the questions like you can in Classic Quizzes. How do you or can you "group" questions in New Quizzes? Thank you.
Hi
This is possible by using item banks. For example, I label item banks "Course Unit Topic Level." The level are the sections or groupings that I want in the new quiz. I even have an item bank called "Assessment Level Dividers" and this lets kids know the section is changing.
In the Build
Click the blue + the folder for the item banks and choose the item bank. Click on Add all / Random. You'll see the bank is added to the quiz. Add the next item bank. Arrange the banks in the sections you desire.
In the Settings
In Settings, do NOT choose "Shuffle Questions" and you'll have your sections.
Back in the Build, click on Preview so that you can check if this is how you want the quiz presented to students.

Hi everyone, It looks like the multiple rubric idea has bounced around a bit with the different feature request methodologies over the years, including a mention in New & Next 2024 according to this post, interviews in the enhanced rubrics features group, being listed as "under consideration" on the new roadmap, and this…
I recently had an exam provided as a Canvas Quiz in my class, and used some questions copied from question banks from other sections and prior years of the course. Some of those questions had "General Answer Comment" text already saved in them. I changed that text in several questions as I updated/changed the questions.…
I would like to suggest improvements to how collaborations function within Canvas LMS. Currently, collaborations are somewhat limited in how they can be accessed and integrated into course content. One potential improvement would be allowing collaborations to be directly linkable within Pages and Modules. This would make…
We are using the Learning Mastery Gradebook with an rubric on account-level. When we enter the gradebook, the sorting does not make any sense. How can we make the sorting so it makes sense to us. It feels like a randam sorting.
Can Canvas please create the option to use a "total points" system such that both the gradebook and the student grades page can show accumulated total points, not as a fraction of total points earned/total points possible? This would be SO helpful for progress tracking in a self-paced course where I do not want 0s entered…
