Canvas Deploy Notes (2023-03-15)

Canvas deploys contain code changes that are intended to fix bugs, improve performance, and prepare for new features. These deploys take place every two weeks and can be tested in the beta environment before the production deploy date indicated in the title of this document.

Deploy notes indicate notable changes in the deploy by feature. To view functionality according to user role, please see Canvas Features by User Role.

Error Report Download URL Expires

Summary

A SIS import error report download URL expires one hour after generation.

Note: URL generation occurs each time the page is viewed.

Change Benefit

This change improves security of SIS import error report link information.

To view a SIS import error report, click the Download link.

SIS Import Error Report Download URL

After one hour the download URL expires.

Note: If the page is refreshed, a new URL is generated and active for one hour. Additionally, authenticated users can continue to view an expired import download link in an active session.

Additional Details

Previously, the download link had no expiration.

Summary

When launching a report, the completed report text is translated into the user’s local language.

Change Benefit

This update allows users to view reports in their native language and improves user interface translations.

Last Run Available Report

In Reports, the last run report is available in the language of the user who last ran the report.

Note: The report text can vary based on different users' local languages. The report text displays in the language of the user who last ran that report.

Additional Details

Previously, all report text was in US English.
