Cannot unpublish files only available to students with link.

Once I click on the little red symbol which shows that the file is 'only available to students with link', I try to click on publish and save, but it keeps reverting back to the same 'only available with link' setting. The file is located in the File section.

Any suggestions?

Thank you for contacting the Instructure Community. We're sorry to hear you've been experiencing issues with publishing files. It is very likely that the folder or sub folder that the file is housed under isn't published - when means you can't give the single  file higher permissions than the folder it is housed under. Check the folder or  sub folder under the files tab and try publishing that one first. Hopefully this helps.
