Canvas course content all jumbled - all courses!

On every one of my courses (22/23 year, maybe previous years too) there are incorrect display properties - everything is jumbled up (assignment files for sure, maybe other things as well). Has anyone else experienced this issue in the past week and currently?

Hi @JoeRobinson1,

I'm an admin for my institution's Canvas instance, and I have not heard any reports of anything like this recently (or ever, honestly). Is there perhaps more than one teacher in your Canvas course shell that may be importing content into it without your knowledge? This may be something to contact Canvas support about if it's an option for you:How do I contact Canvas Support?.

We have the same issue from schools today. Getting more information about these contents. It seems like the CSS styling doesn't present correctly.

Can anyone post a screenshot of what you're seeing around this issue? The Canvas status page currently shows all green, but since a few people are reporting this it could be an undiscovered issue. I'd also encourage anyone experiencing this to contact Canvas support to report the problem if you're able to: How do I contact Canvas Support?

I don't know if this is the same issue, but our Canvas is displaying the menu with odd alignments, and I know at least one teacher had an issue with how an assignment was displaying. I don't have screenshots for her, but she said it varied from student to student, all of whom were on class Chromebooks. I'm experiencing the menu issue (attached image) on my Dell laptop and desktop.

We are seeing a similar problem with changes in formatting. It appears that it may be linked to computers running Chrome.

I include a couple of screenshots to show icons shift. The worst is having the text of a chemistry quiz question shift.

This happens with ChromeOS 102, 105, 108, and 109. Reset Chrome to factory default doesn't help the issue.

Canvas support immediately know that the Read & Write extension is the issue when we call. We can confirm the issue and the fix (is to disable/remove the Read & Write extension for now).

My class policy is that late assignments can be accepted at professor discretion, but they will have a 50% penalty. This is a gate you pass through once, and there are no further penalties.
