Under "assign to" when editing a quiz, my courses don't show up

Question

When I'm trying to add an assignment to different courses with different due dates, under the "assign to" section, none of my courses are listed as options. Only "everyone" and one other course is listed. Does anyone know how to fix this? I need to add this assignment for over 100 courses and it's too tedious to copy each individually. Thanks!

Maybe you need to have a conversation with your director about how to effectively set up these Canvas courses. What you're doing now is a real time killer.

The "Assign to" field typically only shows student names in the course you are currently in ... or sections within the course.  Are you saying that you have over 100 sections within the single course?  Or, are you saying that you have over 100 courses (each with it's own Canvas course shell)?  The "Assign to" field is not how you would copy that particular assignment from course to course...if that is what you are wanting to do.  The "Assign to" is really used for differentiated assignments for things like availability and due dates.  See this Guide for more details: How do I view differentiated assignments with diff... - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com).

If you have one assignment that you are trying to add to separate (different) courses, you might want to look at either Blueprint courses or Canvas Commons.  Those might be better ... especially if you want to copy the same assignment into multiple courses.

All this being said, it would be interesting to hear how you have these 100+ courses configured...either using Sections or by using completely separate couse shells.  Looking forward to hearing back from you soon.
