Mark as done creates Complete grade in gradebook.

I use models as a means of instruction for various tasks for my students. I would like the gradebook to automatically mark the assignment I created as complete when the student checks the box Mark as done. Is there a way to make this happen? The students do not need to turn anything in online and I would not want to add an additional step for them if I can avoid it.

I'm happy to help answer this for you! So the way assignments are designed is it will require you to grade them after a student submits. Unfortunately, there is no way to mark it as done with the student checking a box. I set up an assignment worth one point, for the student "marks as done". When I go to Speedgrader, and the gradebook, I don't see who has completed the assignment. Where can I see who did it so I can give points? I know there is a place that shows who completed it and who did not because I accidently found in last year, but can't find it now.

I have 133 veterinary medicine students who need to work through case reports. Within one course, there is an assignment to work through pages that contain text and quick check questions, and that are organized in a module. Students need to be tracked for completion. The "grade" is participation and completion of the cases in the module. The student reads, clicks quick check questions, moves to the next page (case), repeats, gets to the end and marks "done". How do I know who has done it or not? I do not want a student-by-student progress report for 133 adults. I want to look at the assignment column in the gradebook and see complete or incomplete. How can this be made to happen?
