Is there a QR code attendance tracker that integrates into Canvas? Someone has said there is, but if it exists I can't find it. The only two attendance trackers I know of that integrates with Canvas are A+ Attendance and Qwickly Attendance.
Debbie,
I know that the University of Central Florida was at one point working on a QR code attendance tracker. I remember seeing a demo video of it once but don't know if it was ever completed or set up to be available to anyone beyond UCF. @rseilham - is there anything you can share about this (cause I want to know too)?
Rick
A QR code attendance tracker that integrates into Canvas would be a great suggestion for a new feature, saving a lot of time.
Students could scan the QR code on the instructors laptop with their phones when entering the classroom.
Where / how can i vote for this suggestion? I've been looking through the filters but I can't find it. I'm sorry if this is not the right post on the right topic.
Hi,
I created a tool for this: https://github.com/trackme518/attendance_canvas/ Please star the repository if you find it useful. It's free for non-commercial use. If the School / organization wants to use it, please contact me for a license.

Suggestion: IB and AP are moving to all digital. Currently, if we want peer reviews for in class essays, we have to use the assignment feature. Could we use the quizzes feature so we can use the lockdown browser AND also assign peer reviews? This would help support the integrity of the timed essay.
I've had some faculty ask if could block agentic browsers such as Comet, ChatGPT Atlas, and Dia from being able to access Canvas. Have any schools taken a stance on this? Has Instructure mentioned any technical controls around this topic? I was unable to find any articles in a quick search, other than requiring LDB for all…
Breakout Discussions would enable instructors to orchestrate multi-phase discussions that mirror effective classroom facilitation patterns. An instructor creates a master discussion topic, then segments participants into small breakout groups for focused conversation, and finally reconvenes everyone into a unified thread…
Hi all, Quick question about the Gradebook color status for a 2-part checkpoint discussion. If a student completes the first due date (initial post) but does not complete the required replies by the second due date, is there any way for Canvas to automatically show a color (e.g., missing/late) instead of staying as…
