Issue with creating course

I just signed up on Canvas Lite and exported everything from my Free for Teachers account and then when I went to create my course it didn't allow me to. Keeps asking for account to associate with which I've never seen in my Free for Teachers account, tried leaving it blank, filling it in and still won't allow me to click create. I tried contacting support but they said they don't support Canvas Lite and to post my issue here.

I find that interesting because it looks like your dashboard has the button to turn on the new customizable dashboard that only appears on student accounts… so I wonder if there was a mix up during sign up and that's why you can't successfully create a course.

As for deleting accounts, that is something the general user cannot do, and it requires administrator access. That said, I don't think you'll be able to request to delete your account, at least as of right now, due to limited support. However something you can is called self-service user merge.

What you can do is register for a brand new account with a different email address, re-complete verification (you can do it for more than one account!), and then once you create that account you can go into the settings, add your email that you used for your original account as a backup email on the new account, confirm it from the email you will receive, and then after that you can refresh the settings page on your new account and then next to your original email address there's a plus sign that lets you merge your accounts together. That might work for you. Let me know if that is a path you'd like to take, I can provide more information on that for you, it's fairly easy to do.
