Summary
Catalog introduces a Branding permission for Subcatalog Admins.
- Access to the Branding page requires explicit permission assignment.
- The Branding permission is disabled by default to maximize security.
- The Branding permission populates the Subcatalog Admin permissions table.
- Root admins retain full access and experience no impact.
- API requests from Subcatalog Admins lacking the Branding permission omit branding-related fields.
Change Benefit
- Enhanced System Security: Restricts access to custom branding capabilities and custom code changes to trusted administrators only to protect institutional styling.
- Ownership: Provides organizations greater control over branding and custom code changes.
Feature Workflow
Root admins and/or authorized administrators can update the branding permission for subcatalog admins.
In Admin settings, locate and click the Subcatalog Admins tab [1].
In the Subcatalog Admin List, locate the Branding permission [2] and enable permission for subcatalog admins by clicking the toggle on [3].
After the permission is enabled, subcatalog admins can access the Branding page to manage custom CSS, JavaScript, and updates for headers, footers, logos, and email sender information.
Note: Existing subcatalog admins who currently manage branding settings may lose access unless permissions are updated.
