Summary:
When Enhanced Rubrics are enabled, teachers with the {{Assignments and Quizzes - add / edit / delete}} permission enabled but without the {{Rubrics - add / edit / delete}} permission cannot add rubrics to graded discussions or assignments. With graded discussions, the option to add a rubric shows in the dropdown, but the box that pops up doesn’t have a button to add a rubric The ability to add a rubric to a graded assignment does not show at all.
Expected Behavior:
Users without the {{Rubrics - add / edit / delete}}, but with the {{Assignments and Quizzes - add / edit / delete}} should be able to add rubrics to graded discussions and assignments to align with our Permissions documentation..
Steps to Reproduce:
- Create a custom course teacher based role with the permissions for {{Rubrics - add / edit / delete}} disabled and permission for the {{Assignments and Quizzes - add / edit / delete}} enabled
- In a course with Enhanced Rubrics enabled, enroll a user to the course with the custom role you created
- Act as the user and create a graded discussion
- After saving the discussion, click on the menu on the discussion and select “Add Rubric”
- Notice that the box that pops up is empty and there are no options for “Add Rubric” or “Fine Rubric”
- Create a graded assignment, notice that there is no option to add a rubric after the assignment is saved
