Summary:
When a New Quiz uses questions from an item bank that contain embedded Studio media files, and the quiz is imported into another course, students in the destination course are unable to view the media files. Instead, they see an Access Denied message.
Expected behavior:
When a quiz containing questions with embedded Studio media (sourced from an item bank) is imported into another course, students in the destination course should be able to view the media files without issue
Steps to Reproduce:
Prerequisites: Two courses, source and destination, with a student enrolled into the destination course.
- In the source course, create an item bank and add one or more questions that contain embedded Studio media in the question text.
- Create a quiz using that item bank and link it to add all questions from the bank.
- In the destination course, use the course import tool to Copy a Canvas Course.
- Choose All content or Select Specific Content > select only the quiz to import (issue occurs with either option)
- Act as the student in the destination course, attempt to take the imported quiz.
- Observe that Access Denied appears where the embedded Studio media should display.
Workaround:
Embed Studio media directly into the quiz questions instead of pulling them or adding from an Item bank.
