Managing enrollments at scale should feel as intuitive as modern e-commerce. With this update, Canvas Catalog introduces the Unified Cart Experience, replacing the legacy bulk purchase workflow with a more flexible and streamlined purchasing model.
The Unified Cart Experience has been available in the Beta environment since February 16, 2026, giving institutions several weeks to explore the new workflow and provide feedback.
The feature will become generally available to all Canvas Catalog customers on March 23, 2026.
As we approach the Production release, this is the final opportunity for Catalog administrators to test the new experience in Beta and share feedback. Your input will help shape future iterations as we continue refining the Unified Cart experience after the Production launch.

Why we built the Unified Cart
Many institutions rely on Canvas Catalog to manage professional development, continuing education, and training programs through a centralized storefront integrated with Canvas.
However, the previous Bulk Purchase workflow introduced friction for both buyers and administrators:
- Separate workflows for self-enrollment and bulk purchases
- Limited flexibility when purchasing multiple seats
- Additional administrative steps required to assign enrollments
The Unified Cart experience solves these challenges by consolidating purchasing workflows into a single, modern checkout experience.
Key benefits
Simplified purchasing experience
Buyers can now add listings to a single cart and configure seat quantities directly from the listing interface.
More flexible enrollment management
Admins can enable policies that allow purchasers to reserve seats and invite participants later.
Reduced administrative overhead
The unified checkout removes fragmented steps from the previous bulk purchase workflow.
Improved user experience
A modern shopping cart model makes purchasing courses and programs more intuitive for both individual learners and organizational buyers.
