Email Branding Updates
Summary
Admins can edit the Email Branding to define the sender name (email_from_name) and reply-to address (email_reply_to) for all institutional email communications. Additionally, the basic HTML inputs for email headers and footers are replaced with the Instructure SourceCodeEditor, which provides syntax highlighting and HTML validation.

This development gives institutions greater control over their email communications, ensuring that all emails reflect institutional branding for a more polished and professional experience for recipients. The SourceCodeEditor simplifies the process of editing headers and footers, reduces the chance of formatting errors, and allows admins to manage branding directly within the platform without needing external tools or support.
Feature Workflow
Admins can customize how their institutions' emails display to recipients.
Admins can edit the text fields for the From name (display name) [1] and the Reply-to email address [2].
To help admins write correct HTML and avoid formatting errors, the email Header [1] or Footer [2] editing experience includes syntax highlighting and validation.
When finished, admins can save the changes to apply the updated branding to all institutional emails.
Manual Sync Button for Completion Data
Summary
Admins can manually refresh learner progress from Canvas within Catalog reports that display the Completion Percentage.
The manual sync option is available in the following locations:
- Enrollments Analytics report
- Deadline Nudges view
- Post-Enrollment Nudges view
- Anywhere else Completion Percentage data is shown
Change Benefit
This update gives admins more control when reviewing learner progress and managing nudges. This is helpful for verifying program eligibility, confirming course completions, or guaranteeing that nudges reflect the most up-to-date progress.
The result is more accurate reporting, better timing for automated actions, and reduced need for support intervention.
Feature Workflow
Admins with analytics access, can view a Sync link under the Completion Percentage for each learner.
Clicking the link opens a confirmation dialog. After confirming, the system begins syncing that enrollment with Canvas.
During the synchronization process, the button is replaced with a "Syncing..." message and hidden to prevent subsequent clicks. Immediately upon completion, the updated Completion Percentage is displayed on the page. Admins also receive a confirmation message indicating whether the sync was successful or if an error occurred.
