Is there a way to set different User Defined Fields for different courses?

I want to add several fields to the user registration for one specific course. Right now, I only see a way to create user defined fields that apply to all courses in the sub-catalog. There are registrations happening for two different courses at the same time that require different UDFs.

Am I missing something or is this not possible?

Thank you for your thoughtful question and for describing your use case in detail.

At this time, Canvas Catalog only supports User Defined Fields at the subcatalog level, which means they apply universally across all listings within that subcatalog. There is currently no built-in way to configure unique UDFs per individual course listing.

That said, your need to collect different registration data for different courses is a strong and valid use case. We’ve heard similar feedback from other customers, and I want to let you know that we are actively evaluating this development as part of our roadmap planning for 2026.

As Mate said, this isn't possible right now. However, one possible solution is to have different sub-catalogs based on the need for different UDFs. It may not be feasible. And if and when Mate and team add this ability it would probably mean moving things back to the way they are now. But I just wanted to state another option.
