Public Link or Embed Code Still Ad free?

Question

When sharing media from Studio using the Public Link or Embed Code, are the videos still ad free? Let's say I wanted the link to post as a URL in a Module in Canvas ( opening in a new browser window or opening inside of Canvas). I have recently experienced this method showing ads before playing the intended video content. Hello @srickman,

It is my understanding that the YouTube video will only be ad-free if you using the Canvas Studio LTI tool in the LMS and not when using the public link or embed code.

Have you tried using the method described at

Is the YouTube video ad-free when using that method?

If it is not ad-free when using that method, then either: (a) Canvas Studio admins would need to try and make adjustments (based on what YouTube supports) or (b) you would need to create a page and use the method described at

Hi @srickman ,

Yes, a change was made a couple of month ago. YouTube videos within the LTI tool tool using the RCE will not include any ads or disruptions, as well as links going to YouTube. However, public links and embed codes work differently.
