Separating Catalog from main instance of Canvas

Hi all, my institution is looking to talk with another institution that split their instance of Catalog from their main instance of Canvas into a separate instance. We are looking into doing this process, and would like to have a conversation with someone who has gone through this experience before. Thanks!!

Specifically someone who originally had Canvas connected to their main instance but separated and not someone who has a separate instance just for Catalog?

Hi! Am I understanding the requirement correctly that you have Catalog pointing at a Canvas instance, and you want to move it so that it's pointing at a separate Canvas instance? Generally this would require a brand new Catalog environment be created, and all new listings created as well. If there's a custom URL involved that also requires some adjustments, and also the payment gateway (if included). There are a lot of variables, so I do recommend connecting with your CSM to unpack this further.
