Assignment Points Possible Zero Other Explanation?

For assignments where the points_possible value is set to zero, I see that is a way to create an extra credit assignment.  Is there any other explanation for setting up an assignment that way?

The reason I ask is that almost 10% of the assignments in the system have points_possible set to zero.  That seems like a lot to me, but maybe that's normal.

@JimEgan Many teachers that I work with set zero points possible for completion assignments. Sometimes that's because they have a complex way of allowing some assignments to be missed, giving penalties for missed assignments that scale, etc. I typically encourage them to use positive integers for any assignment they want to include in calculations, but that doesn't always persuade them.
