Will regular expressions be still available?
How do I activate this feature? It is part of the release notes for 4/16/2022 but when I go to creat a quiz it is still the old version of Fill in the Blank.
Is there a timeline for when everyday New Quiz users will be able to modify fill-in-the-blank questions using the rich content editor (questions on separate lines, fill-in-the-blank tables,...)? I've had 04-16-22 on my calendar ever since I learned about the update but I still can't fix all the science lab questions in my quizzes. I'm guessing it is in the Beta world and so unavailable to me....
I'd sure love to test this in beta. Too bad New Quizzes isn't working in beta. 😞
Does anyone know how to activate the Beta environment in my canvas course?
The fill in the blank space quizzes already migrated, which can´t be on separate lines, will be corrected automatically on 2022-05-21, or we will need to correct them. Thank you.
We found that existing fill in the blank questions do nit migrate, and duplicating the quiz does not update. We did find that going into the build area, and duplicating the fill in the blank questions one at a time will update them. Hopefully this helps others.
I have world language instructors who are struggling with using the backticks in the fill-in-the-blank as it rejects accent marks within the backticks [Please see the attached image(1)]. The workaround is to put the word in the backticks without the accent [Please see attached image (2)], but that is actually incorrect and allows students to choose the wrong answer when it is necessary to have the accent. To further correct this, the instructor must then choose the option to list correct answers, put in the word including the accent mark, then delete the answer without the accent mark [Please see Screen Shot]. This is disruptive to work flow despite correcting the problem. Any suggestions on how to improve/fix this? it wasn't a problem before the update. Thank you!
I am very happy to see the change in this question type, but I've found a problem. If I try to put a backtick around an expression containing a parenthesis, square bracket, or brace, it doesn't recognize the expression as a fill-in-the-blank. Unfortunately, I need students to be able to use these symbols. Please fix this!
first, I love having the RCE in fill in the blank questions. I can finally make my vocabulary quizzes the way I prefer. But working with it today I came across a significant issue.
If I separate the fill in the blank questions with other types of questions, then there seems to not be a problem--until the shuffled questions put one after the other and the problem resurfaces. Any advice? or perhaps schedule a fix?
Hi
I am not able to regrade any of the fill in the blank questions that have been created with the the rich text editor and backticks. Please assist urgently on how one does this
So glad that you added the RCE to Canvas New Quizzes. I would still love to see the html editor though.
I am having an issue with the graded view for students after they have submitted a question and it is marked wrong.
The incorrect answers are not matching up to the corresponding question. This happens whenever I have two fill in the blank questions in a row.
