Remove Assignment Category in All Courses

I know this can be done through an API call, but my API experience is limited and something that takes an experienced user 2 minutes takes me 2 days... I'm sure I could figure it out, but I am in an extreme time crunch. Like EXTREME.

I need to remove an assignment category (the one auto-generated in any Canvas course called Assignments) from every course that contains 17-18 in the course title. If anyone can generate this quickly (I know how to get my access token and add in our instance URL), I would certainly appreciate it!!

Hi Jennifer,

To fully automate this, you'd need to be able to run some kind of script using something like Python or Perl. If you just want an easier way than clicking, you could look at installing Postman and grabbing course and tab ids, and pasting them into the POST command for hiding the tab.

You would just need to feed Postman this string: /api/v1/courses/:course_id/tabs/:tab_id with the parameter hidden=true and method POST.

If you have access to a *NIX system, you can use curl to do this too. Information is provided on the api page for that method.
