I've been a Canvas-using educator for the better part of the last ten years. I have sung its praises and made disciples of other educators... However, in the recent past, the Canvas Mobile App's Speed Grader has stopped allowing users to filter student results by section. I don't know who made that decision, but I promise…
In the Canvas Teacher app, suddenly the 'grading panel' is open by default every time I open a student paper. This is so frustrating/time-consuming, as I now have to close the panel, then select the pen icon so I can write on the paper. I would love to be able to set a default state individually, but if that isn't…
The updated version of the Canvas teacher app for i-pad has removed the functionality of selecting grades to view by section. This is (was) one of the most important features of the mobile app and allowed not only very efficient grading of both homework assignments and quizzes by section (grades have to be transferred to…
* Hello to all and thanks for any help anyone can provide. As recently as the end of the 24/25 school year in June, when my students turned in an assignment I would use my Canvas iPhone app to look at student grades and record them into my gradebook on my laptop. I teach 5 sections of the same class. Previously I could go…
I'm a teacher that makes extensive use of Outcomes and alignments. The assignment view of my gradebook is pretty meaningless to students, and all of the information about growth and mastery of different learning objectives in the class is displayed in the Learning Mastery gradebook. Unfortunately, they can't see this view…
I have the Teacher Canvas app on my iPad. Last year, I was able to annotate student work with my Apple Pencil on uploaded student work. This year, however, when I click on the Assignment, I am unable to annotate the assignment. I can still assign a grade but I want to be able to indicate to the student where the errors are…
I am having issues with the Canvas teacher app with the iPad. I always cross list my courses because I teach the same class a few time a day. Last year, I was able to filter through assignments by class periods which made grading and checking that students turned in work a little easier. It seems that feature is no long…
It seems that teachers can no longer annotate onto student assignments when they have been submitted as a PDF. This was available last year and made it possible to use a stylus to grade and leave feedback directly onto the PDF that the student submitted. It seems this feature is not available on the Teacher app anymore or…
Can I still separate my courses by section when filtering views?
Hello Everyone, Some of our students are unable to view certain published files, while others can access them without issue. Our support team has checked for configuration errors but hasn't identified any clear pattern or solution. Regards Namrata Hinduja Geneva, Switzerland (Swiss)
