Similarity score missing in Speedgrader when anonymous grading and "Performance and Usability

This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment as of 12/5/25.

Description

When the Feature Option “Performance and Usability Upgrades for SpeedGrader” is enabled, assignments utilizing Anonymous Grading will not display the Similarity Scores for the submissions in SpeedGrader.

• Without the Feature Option enabled, the Similarity Score displays in the SpeedGrader regardless whether the assignment is using Anonymous Grading.

Expected Behavior

The Similarity Score’s display behavior should match that of the classic SpeedGrader when assignments are setup with anonymous grading.

Workaround

Any of the below allow for the Similarity Score to display:

• Disabling Anonymous Grading

• Posting the grades

• Disabling the Feature Option

Steps to Reproduce

Prerequisites: a course containing a student and an assignment set up with Anonymous Grading containing a student submission

1. Open the student submission within SpeedGrader

   1. Observe the Similarity Score displaying

2. Navigate to Settings, then Feature Options

3. Enable Performance and Usability Upgrades for SpeedGrader

4. Navigate back to the submission in SpeedGrader

   1. Observe the Similarity Score missing
