Canvas Teacher Release Notes (iOS 1.24)

In Canvas Teacher iOS 1.24, Assignment Enhancements and Discussion and Announcement Redesign interfaces are supported. Additionally, instructors can rearrange course cards in the Dashboard.

Canvas iOS app version updates are distributed in a phased rollout, which distributes the update to all users enrolled in automatic updates over time. The features in these notes may not immediately be available, but iOS users can manually update the app at any time in the iTunes Store. The Canvas Teacher iOS App requires iOS 15.0 or later.

Assignments

Support for Assignment Enhancements

When the Assignment Enhancements feature option is enabled, instructors can participate in assignments using the enhanced interface.

Assignment Detail Submission Attempts

The Assignment Enhancement interface supports the ability to filter between multiple student submission attempts.

Assignment Detail Submission Comments

Submission detail comments display in individual submission attempts.

Dashboard

Rearrange Course Cards

Instructors can reorder course cards by dragging and dropping them into their preferred sequence.

To reorder course cards, tap, move and release a course card, then drag the card to the desired order.

Discussions

Support for Discussion and Announcement Redesign

When the Discussions and Announcement Redesign feature option is enabled, instructors can participate in discussions and announcements using the enhanced interface.

Discussion Redesign View Split Screen and Ascend/Descend Buttons

In Discussions, instructors can expand and collapse all threaded replies in the Inline view [1]. To switch to View Split Screen, tap the View Split Screen button [2].

Discussion Redesign Thread View

In the Split Screen view, threaded responses open in a separate view. 

Announcement View Split Screen and Ascend/Descend Buttons

In Announcements, instructors can expand and collapse all threaded replies in the default Inline view [1]. To switch to View Split Screen, tap the View Split Screen button [2].
