Animated Badges?

Does anyone know if you can create animated badges in Badgr? I tried uploading various animated file types (i.e, GIF) but as soon as the file is uploaded to Badgr the animation is stripped away and the graphic is static. When I share the badge to social media or view it with the direct link option, it's also static.

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide!
