How can I re-order the course navigation links instance-wide?

I have been asked to place a re-direct link in the course navigation menu (instance-wide). No big deal. Done. But I need to move the link up the list a few spots.

I can pull down the navigation links for a course using Postman - but I don't quite understand how I push a re-ordered list back to the course (and entire instance).

Can this be done via the XML? I would really appreciate the help. I am about to transition to another school, and I need to figure this out before I go.

I had a similar task for one of our institutions. I built a simple tool using the API to update the order for the course navigation. Unfortunate this has to be done on a per course basis, but it is a fairly simple setup. You just have to get the id of the tab you are trying to move and send a PUT request with the new position. I recommend you run this on individual sub-accounts as the position may be different based on LTI tools or other circumstances.
