Messaging Changes--- Suggestions for more streamlining

I was thinking of this a while ago and have been trying to message Canvas support about this but they suggested here but not which category. I apologize if this is the wrong spot.

When messaging students right now we need to message one by one. I would like to know if there is a way we can change that to streamline it so more than one assignment can be selected if sending the same message (for instance a reminder to turn in the work that has not been submitted yet).

The other change I thought would be amazing is if we could schedule send messages to students and the observers for a later time (for instance if a teacher is grading late or on the weekend). This idea stemmed from a policy in my district where times of messaging is limited (rightfully so) but if grading at night it is convenient to send those messages when done so students get them. Unfortunately, due to the current way it is set up that is not possible.

Your first suggestion is possible using the “Message Students Who…” feature in the Canvas Gradebook. While you can only select one assignment at a time, you don’t need to message students individually. For each assignment, you can bulk‑message all students who:

* Haven’t submitted yet
* Haven’t been graded
* Scored below a certain threshold
* Scored above a certain threshold

This lets you send the same reminder to all relevant students in one step for that assignment.

If you want to send reminders for multiple assignments, you’ll need to repeat the process for each one, but you will still be sending to groups—not one-by-one.
