Is it possible to synchronize data between Canvas and another application without user authorization

Hi Community,

is it possible to synchronize calendar entries between Canvas and another application without asking the user for authorization?

Can I leave a unique application key in Canvas which authorizes my app to do those tasks?

For example:

I want to develop an application which uses the REST API to get all user and synchronizes all calendar entries by their e-mail adresses with Canvas.

@cro ,

This should be completely doable with Instance Admin access and the token that you can generate with that admin account.  I am not a developer, but the openess is Canvas was designed for these types of integrations.
