FL NGSSS Social Studies Section Moves (April 2022)

When we originally captured the new Civics and Government (Starting in 2023-2024) and Holocaust Education (Starting in 2023-2024) strands, we captured them as their own sections per the source file. Florida now has a new source file, which includes those standards as separate strands within their existing grade level sections. As a result, we will be moving those standards into the appropriate grade levels.

The only section that will not move is the grades 6-8 Holocaust Education (Starting in 2023-2024). That section name title will be altered, but the standards will not move.

How will this change impact the standards data?

The following changes will be made:

The grade K Civics and Government (Starting 2023-2024) will be moved into Grade K.

The grade 1 Civics and Government (Starting 2023-2024) will be moved into Grade 1.

The grade 9-12 Holocaust Education (Starting 2023-2024) will be moved into Grades: 9-12 Revised February 2014.

The existing section titled Holocaust Education (Starting 2023-2024) for grades 6-8 (GUID: D95D2216-EEE1-11EB-A27E-0A202F817475) will have its title changed to Grades: 6-8. Holocaust Education will be added within the section as a Strand statement, and the existing standard levels will be shifted down, as children to this new Strand statement.

How will this change impact alignments?

Any existing alignments between assets and standards will not change.

When is this change taking effect?

These sections were moved/altered on 4/15/22.
