Introduction
Learning Services is pleased to announce the release of a new partnership training course, Peer Learning with Peerceptiv and Canvas developed by Peerceptiv. The course has been added to the On-Demand Training Portal on February 24, 2026.
Peerceptiv is dedicated to the improvement of learning outcomes through collaboration and innovation. They make human-centered, high-impact, and team-based learning possible in any course, at any scale. They have partnered with Instructure to create an engaging training course that can be accessed from the On-Demand Training Portal. Institutions with an Essentials, Standard, or Premium subscription to the On-Demand Training Portal will have access to this course (learn more about available subscription levels). For information on accessing a partnership course in the portal, please see the Partnership Program Launch Blog post.
Course Description
Peerceptiv’s course trains portal users on their tools that actively engage learners in peer learning and peer-to-peer collaboration: Peer Review, Peer Assessment, Team Member Evaluation, Group Formation, and Live Presentation. These tools enable authentic assessment, skills validation, and group facilitation at any scale.
Peer Assessment assignments employ proprietary, research-validated machine learning to distribute peer reviews and calculate results, enabling each learner to receive constructive, personalized feedback on their performance as well as valid and reliable grades. Easy to set up and facilitate in any learning context, Peerceptiv improves critical thinking, collaboration, and other work-ready skills and lowers costs for your school, institution, or organization.
The course includes a series of Modules with written content, images, and videos. Upon completion of this course, a verifiable digital badge is awarded so learners can showcase a credential as evidence of learning. This course provides in-depth information and use cases of this tool for those looking for a deeper application than what may be found in a guide. This course brings Peerceptiv to life through real-world examples and implementation strategies within Canvas. Rather than focusing solely on step-by-step instructions, it highlights how institutions and organizations are using Peerceptiv to foster meaningful peer learning, teamwork, and collaboration at scale.
By the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- Describe Peerceptiv's origin, values, and purpose.
- Understand the basics of Peer Assessment, Team Member Evaluation, Group Formation, and Live Presentation Review in Peerceptiv.
- Create assignments utilizing Peerceptiv.
- Demonstrate your learning by completing the final quiz and earning your Peerceptiv badge.
