IgniteAI Agent Release Notes (2026-02-19)

Release notes outline upcoming customer-impacting changes that are expected to display in beta and/or production environments. Please note that features considered for future development are not included in the notes.

Unless otherwise stated, all features in this release are available in the Beta environment on 2026-02-18 and the Production environment on 2026-02-19.

User Settings

User Control for IgniteAI Agent Button

Summary

When the IgniteAI Agent account-level feature option is enabled, a Display IgniteAI Agent Button feature option is available in User Settings. The first time a user opens the Agent, a dialog prompts them to keep the button enabled or turn it off. Currently, this feature is only available for admins.

Change Benefit

This gives users direct control and allows them to deactivate the Agent if preferred.

Feature Workflow

Once the IgniteAI Agent-Admin feature option is enabled, admins can choose to Disable and Hide the Agent button [1] or Enable and Continue [2] within their own interface.

In User Navigation, click the Account link [1], then Settings link [2] to modify the display at the user level.

This update caused significant issues for our Canvas Admins and their view of Canvas pages.

Just noting here that if this update messed up Canvas Page view for any Canvas Admins, you can go in and disable Ignite AI Agent until they resolve the bug.

Canvas Admins can now disable it at their own account level or at the root level, but for everyone at our institution with an Admin role, all Canvas pages were broken.

And yes — we reported this to Canvas Support and they are working on a resolution.
But in the meantime, if any Canvas Admins need to restore their page views, they should disable the agent.

This thankfully had no affect on student or faculty/teacher view of pages.

@InstContentTeam - please dialog with the IgniteAI team and ask for details on what Emily is describing here. Also, what is the process is for informing beta participants of issues with releases?

We experienced this issue this week, and also discovered that disabling the agent resolved the issue. We submitted a help ticket, but unfortunately, this fix was not suggested to us. We had to discover it on our own.

To everyone who has experienced this issue, apologies for the inconvenience it has caused. A fix to resolve the issue will be deployed on Monday 3/2. We have confirmed that this issue only affects Admin roles, not Teachers or Students.
