I tried peer grading on live presentations in the fall. This feature is poorly implemented, and it made me look bad as an instructor.
The problems we had:
- Difficult to assign peer graders when I have multiple sections collapsed in one course. No way to auto-assign by section, so I had to do it manually.
- When a student submits a peer review, there is no way for that student to edit the review.
- When a student submits a peer review, there is no way for the instructor to edit or clear that peer review.
- Anonymous peer reviews does not work as desired. It prevents reviewers and reviewees from seeing each other’s names, both ways! I need a one-way anonymization where the reviewee cannot see the reviewer’s names but not vice versa. This is necessary when peer reviewers are rating a live presentation, otherwise the peer reviewers aren't able to select the correct person to review.
