Our courses are in professional development programs where students take a 5-week course and then might or might not enroll in future offerings. We keep our use of Canvas features very basic to streamline the experience for our adult learners and minimize technical issues for our adjunct faculty who often teach just once per year.
In our course template, we have created a Technical Support page that links directly to 5 or 6 basic functions our specific users need to do: Post to a discussion, upload a file to an assignment, etc. We don't link to full Canvas student guide because it includes too much extraneous information for our learners and is not easy for a novice to navigate.
To my disappointment, the links I've used to create the quick-reference technical support page that is in every single course in every single one of our programs are now broken. For example:
https://community.instructure.com/en/t5/Video-Guide/Assignment-Submissions-Students/ta-p/384159
Why is there no redirect to the new content? I'm sure I'm not the only person who will be manually updating support pages into the foreseeable future.
PLEASE consider the experience of the IDs and help desk folks who have to keep links to these resources updated when making future updates to the Canvas support documentation. A URL redirect would not be difficult to set up and would save countless hours of manual rework for your users.
