Note: this should go in the same section as Canvas Apps generally and should have the same header about the needed permissions
How do I see which subaccounts and courses have access to any given app (LTI Tool)?
On the Canvas Apps Manage page you can click on the app name to access more information about its configuration in Canvas. The first tab will default to “Availability and Exceptions” which is where you can see all current deployments of the app, that deployment’s availability, and if there are any exceptions to that availability.
Each deployment will have a deployment ID listed, which some app providers will want you to provide them with. It will also list how many exceptions to the default availability have been created as well as how many sub-accounts and how many courses are included in this deployment.

In order to make the tool have a different availability in its context than the parent context (for example, the tool is available at the root and you want it disabled in a sub-account), you will click the Add Exception button. This opens a window which lets you search for subaccounts and courses (contexts) using the name, the Course Code, or the SIS ID. You can also use the tree icon to browse for a specific context. You may select as many contexts as needed, and set the availability you want.

Clicking ‘Done’ will add these contexts to the list. From here you can use the edit icon to change the availability, or the delete button to remove the exception for the context.
Configuration Tab
After clicking on an app's name from the Manage page to enter the app details page, the second tab you’ll see is the Configuration Tab. This tab contains all of the information you’re used to seeing on the Developer Key. We know that often admins want to go in and check settings without intending to change them, and that the old Developer Keys page made it too easy to accidentally make a change. In order to combat that issue, you’ll see that the page contents is in read-only mode when you first access it.
Clicking the Edit button will open editing mode where you can make changes to individual fields. Note that the Edit button is not currently available for Inherited Keys, and Dynamically Registered Keys have a limited list of options which are editable. After making any desired changes, you can use the Update Configuration button to save these changes. These changes will take effect anywhere the app is currently available.

History Tab
The third tab on the App Details page is the History tab. This tab provides the name of the user who made changes and the date on which changes occurred to the configuration settings. We have not always tracked this data, so any changes which were made before we began tracking (Summer 2025) will not be shown.
We are working to expand this to include more details such as what specific changes took place. Look for that in a future release!
