Do you find yourself overwhelmed by the time it takes to read through every student reply in a single discussion? Discussion Insights is designed to streamline your grading process by providing evaluation scores and notes. This allows you to quickly assess the relevance and quality of student replies in Discussions, significantly reducing the time you spend on grading.
How Discussion Insights works
When the Discussion Insights feature option is enabled, teachers can access the Insights page by clicking the "Go To Insights" button within the Discussion topic. Teachers must first generate the insight.
Discussion Topic with Open Translate Button
Note: Currently, only student replies to the topic are evaluated.
After successful Insight generation, the Discussion Insights dashboard displays all students who responded to the discussion, their relevance to the topic, and the reasoning behind the evaluation in the 'Evaluation notes'. Relevance falls into three categories:
- Relevant
- Irrelevant
- Needs review
If the AI is uncertain about the quality and relevancy, it will assign a "Needs review" score, highlighting replies that require more teacher attention.
Teachers can access SpeedGrader directly from the dashboard to streamline the grading process, where evaluation scores and notes are displayed.
Note: Discussion Insights results appear in SpeedGrader only when the "Performance and Usability Upgrades for SpeedGrader" feature option is enabled.
To identify which evaluation corresponds to a specific reply, teachers can click on each evaluation, which will highlight both the evaluation and its corresponding reply.
