I have created the trackers and assigned the test but it does not show up on the students screen.... it says "you do not have any assessments yet"

It sound like the students are trying to access the test from the student portal. In the test Assess window, make sure the "Student Portal" toggle button is on (see this part of How do I deliver a formative assessment to students? ). You might also be able to get around this by having the students take the assessment in a browser window instead of through the portal; they would need the test ID and their student IDs.
