As the new school year begins, here are a few quick setup tasks to help your district run smoothly in Mastery Connect. At the end of this post, there is a link to a resource document that will show you how to complete each of these tasks.
1. Note on Copied Courses: When copying a course from a previous school year, you’ll want to remove any assignments already listed in the new course before a tracker is created for that course.
2. Remote Scores: When you initially create your tracker, you may see scores from assessments the students took on the same standards. We recommend hiding these “remote scores” from view.
3. Creating/Adding/Managing Assessments: Make sure you understand how to create and manage assessments. There are important factors to keep in mind when cloning assessments, selecting an alignment source, and reopening an assessment. Read the resource doc linked at the end of this post for more details.
4. Delivering Assessments to Students: Make sure you understand the various options for delivering assessments to students and select the right option for your needs. Read the resource doc linked at the end of this post to understand the options.
5. What to do if you run into a problem? Remember to first check the help documentation, then refer to your district’s processes and then get help from your district’s technical contact accessible from the “?” icon in the top, right-hand corner of Mastery Connect. If none of those help, contact Mastery Connect support.
