SC adopted new science standards in 2021. How long does it usually take for item back questions to be written or be relabeled for new standards?
Our goal is to have standards alignments updated in the the item banks by the beginning of the school-year of the new state assessment. In the case of South Carolina College-and Career-Ready Science Standards, the standards were adopted in 2021. However, the Science standards are not assessed by the state until the 2023-2024 school year. Accordingly, the Mastery Item Bank will be updated in the Spring of 2023 with the new SC Science standards alignments. Let me know if you have any additional questions!
