How do I set up for due dates from assignments and quizzes to automatically go into Calendar?

Any due date associated with an event, assignment, quiz, or discussion will automatically appear on the course calendar for instructors, students, and observers. So, as you build content, when you add the due date/time, it will populate in the calendar without any extra steps. These dated items will also display in a student's to-do list on the dashboard.
The dates are showing for the student view, but not for me. I am sure there is a setting that needs attention, but I don't know what it is!
