Google Drive Apps not submitting correctly

I have Assignment Enhancements active in my classes, and in the past week or so documents submitted through Google Drive (both the old one and new LTI 1.3 since our school has both active) do not load in Speed Grader. With the old Google Drive app, I need to download and change the extension to .docx to view them. With the LTI 1.3, the file is completely corrupt and won't open.

The issue is completely resolved if I turn off Assignment Enhancements.

Thank you, all, for alerting us of this issue. As @audra_agnelly mentioned above, Google is still working to support SpeedGrader with the new LTI 1.3 integration. Our team was able to deploy a fix for the issues that some of you were seeing with the older integration last night, so all should be working as expected once again. If you experience any additional issues, please submit a support ticket so that our support team can investigate and escalate to engineering as needed.

Hi Wkurzius,

We have noticed the same problem using Google Drive with not loading in SpeedGrader, but we have had success with LTI 1.3. It does take quite some time to load the file, but if we wait it out (usually around 3-5 minutes) the file will load on both the student and teacher end successfully.

We discovered that if the assignment was originally in a Word Format and the teacher had not saved as a Google Doc so the file was a .docx, then the students were not able to submit the assignment using any of the submission types. We are also having challenges with students uploading other file types if they are saved in their Google Drive. The process for submitting assignments has become cumbersome for our students and the problem is not always consistent. We figure out a process, communicate with students, and then it changes a few weeks later.

We also noticed that the Immersive Reader feature will not show up on assignments if the Assignment Enhancement feature is enabled, but when it is disabled it will show up on the page.

I had the same issues as well. I am wondering if this is just for those who are working from a Google Assignments POV. My assignments have long been rooted in Google Docs, so the issues came up with the new LTI. At least half of my students were having problems determining how to access the drive and then choose the assignment. It was easiest for them to download the doc as a PDF and upload it as a file. That's too many steps.
