How to debug LTI integration

I'm developing an external LTI tool.

When adding it to Canvas by JSON configuration link, a generic error message is shown with no details.

Being a develop, I'd like to go in depth and see what exactly went wrong. May you please advise how developers should approach debugging LTI tools.
