How do I find assignments for students that transfer to another class?
@connie_higgins Welcome!
When a student transfers to another class in Canvas, the assignments/submissions stay in the old Canvas course, but won't be viewable unless you add the student back in. If you can't add the student back in, because your institution has restricted that, then you will need to talk to your Canvas Admin to assist with this. Thanks!
@connie_higgins The assignments and scores belong to the course, not the student so the data does not travel with them. If a student moves from course A to course B, all their assignments and scores are still stored in course A. They would have to be manually entered into course B. If you are the instructor for course A, assuming your institution allows it (could be blocked), you can manually add the student back via the "People" page and all their previous assignments and scores will return too. If you are the instructor of course B (that received the students) you would need to work with the previous instructor to get any assignments or scores.
Hope this helps!

The API returns 204 No Content (success), but the column order does not persist after page refresh. Steps to Reproduce: Open Learning Mastery Gradebook for…
Hi all, Quick question about the Gradebook color status for a 2-part checkpoint discussion. If a student completes the first due date (initial post) but does not complete the required replies by the second due date, is there any way for Canvas to automatically show a color (e.g., missing/late) instead of staying as…
Canvas Portfolios provide a powerful platform for students to document their learning journey, reflect on their progress, and showcase competencies. However, in programs where multiple educators are involved in assessment—such as team teaching, moderation, or competency-based evaluation—there are important questions about…
Hi There, We are in the process of transitioning to Canvas this year and were wanting to connect with any other MYP schools to see how you setup Assignment and grading under your modules. Or you could guide us to any resources you may have.
